Commercial Street is one of the first shopping areas of its kind in Bangalore now called as Bengaluru. Commercial Street also includes the narrow by lanes in and around it like the always crowded Dispensary Road, Ebrahim Sahib Street, and Narayan Pillai Street, etc. Commercial Street is situated very close to the Sivaji Nagar Bus terminus which is at a walkable distance. Dispensary lane at Commercial Street is the most ideal place for shopping of fabrics. This lane is situated just parallel to the Commercial Street. The dispensary lane is full of shops dealing with fabrics both on the pavements and small stores in the narrow lanes and the main road.
Bargain plays a wonderful role at Commercial street in Bengaluru. If a seller quotes Rs 500, the buyer should not quote anything more than half of it. So to shop at Commercial street one should also be an expert in bargaining. Pooja Collections is a very notable area for silk saris and silk dupattas. It is always buzzing with crowd. Pooja collections also have fabulous yards of Maheshwari and printed cottons. Radhika Dezigns is situated right next to Pooja Collections which is very popualr among the natives both for its unstitched fabric and ready-mades with brocade and gota work. Though the lanes and the streets leading to shops are very narrow , it is worth visiting to choose the best from the wide display. Khadi Bhandar is another overstocked godown from where one can narrow down to meters of fabric in cotton, raw and tussar silk in colors that cover a wide range of hues. The Narayan Pillai Street houses a number of shops which deals with salwar suit pieces and fabric. Dupatta house is a very famous shop here where one can buy dupattas in every possible shade and can even get them dyed for one's requirement. Mysore Saree Udyog situated right at the entrance of Commercial Street is noted for its exotic brocades.
Strawberry- Exclusive Shop Meant for Kids
Strawberry is an exclusive shop meant for kids mainly with embroidered items. There are tailors who are readily available in the by lanes of the Commercial streets who can transit the fabrics in a period of an hour or two into a stitched outfit. The Elan Design Studio is known for their stitching of skirts, dresses and fitted jackets and similarly N Shankar Rao on Ebrahim Sahib Street, are known to make great blouses and Indian attire. For bridal gowns the shops which comes immediately to sight is the Shama Rao Drapers on Dispensary Road who stitch beautiful bridal gowns and Western wear. At Commercial street we will not miss out on jewellery for it houses the very old C Krishniah Chetty & Sons who deal with gold and other precious stones, including temple jewelry. Kusuma Harnath Jewellers, the silver shop has exclusive silver items like thick silver chains to silver and stone earrings. Some of the other shops in Commercial street which deals with silver are KVK Krishnaiah Chetty and Alankrita. Narayan Jewellers on Dispensary Road is also a notable silver shop in the area.

Some of the knick knacks of Commercial street include the artificial and imitation jewlery, accessories and foot wears which are sold at a very reasonable price.
