MUSTARD FISH Non-Vegetarian-Dish

A traditional Bengali (East Indian) dish. It is easy to make and usually prepared using hilsa fish. However salmon or cod can be used instead.



Ingredients

Small fresh fish
: 8
Black Mustard (Paste)
: 3 tsps
Green Chillies
: 6-8 sliced
Tomato medium sliced
: 1
Mustard Oil
: 3 tbsp
Turmeric powder
: As required
Fresh coriander leaves chopped
: 2 tbsp
Salt
: To taste

Method

  • Clean fish. Keep aside.
  • Make of paste of black mustard with pinch of salt and keep aside.
  • In one microoven proof bowl, keep the fish, put mustard paste, salt to taste, turmeric powder, green chillies, tomato, mustard oil, coriander leaves and mix well and cover with lid. Now put the bowl in micro-oven and cook for 10 minutes at micro-hi temperature. Serve with plain rice.
