CARAMEL SAUCE
This is a thin sweet sauce perfect for Christmas plum pudding. It is also good over ice cream.Use this caramel sauce to top bread pudding or ice cream.
Ingredients
Butter or margarine
: 1/4 cup
Packed brown sugar
: 1 cup
Heavy cream
: 1/2 cup
Method
- In a 4 cup glass measure or deep bowl, Microwave butter on High for 45-60 seconds to melt.
- Whisk in brown sugar and heavy cream until smooth.
- Microwave on High for 2-2 1/2 minutes until bubbly and slightly thick, stirring once.
- Serve warm over cake or ice cream.
