MICROWAVE BENGALI CHUTNEY
Tangy tomato chutney flavoured with panch phoran seeds. Panch poran is a Bengali blend of spices containing equal parts of mustard seeds, kalonji cumin seeds, saunf and fenugreek seeds.
Ingredients
Tomatoes
: 2 cups
Panch phoran seeds
: 1/4 tsp
Raisins
: 1 tsp
Ginger
: 1/2 tsp
Chillies
: 1/2 tsp
Sugar
: 1 tsp
Oil or mustered oil
: 1 tsp
Method
- Heat the oil a microwave safe bowl for 1 min.
- Add the panch paoran seeds and micro for 1 min.
- Add the tomatoes and salt and mix well. Cover and micro for 3 min.
- Add the raisins, ginger, green chillies and sugar and micro for 10 min stirring twice in between after every 4 min.
