She is few among the Tamil girls who have made it big in the industry of showbiz and in the industry of Bollywood.   • She may be ruling the Bollywood industry now but her film debut was made in Mollywood industry with the Malayalam film Chakram. The film did not take off due to various undisclosed reasons. So technically her film debut was in the Bengali film Bhalo Theko in the year 2003. The film was received well at the box office and her performance in the film was appreciated both by the film critics and the audience.

  • Her Bollywood debut was made only three years after that is in the year 2006 in the film Parineeta. She was praised for her excellent performance by both the film critics and the audience which also fetched her the Best Debutant Award-Female.
