SREEJESH RAVINDRAN


Sreejesh Parattu Ravindran was born on 8th May 1988. He is an Indian hockey team member. He took the role as the goalkeeper of Indian team at the 2010 Hockey World Cup. In 2011, he played an outstanding task in the first Asian Champions Trophy held at Ordos located at China, in which India overwhelmed Pakistan 4-2 in the closing match.

He made two critical saves in the penalty shootout. He was the Goal keeper for the Road to Olympics Delhi final in opposition to France. Sreejesh Ravindran is an Indian sportsman who plays the sport of hockey. For the duration of the year 2010 Hockey World Cup, he played the position of the goalkeeper of the Indian team.

Indian men hockey team suffered a setback as its current number one goalkeeper Parattu Ravindran Sreejesh, better known as PR Sreejesh, was ruled out of the 34th FIH Champions Trophy tournament being played in Melbourne.

Sreejesh biggest hour of glory came during the first Asian Champions Trophy in Ordos, China last year, where he pulled off two brilliant saves in the penalty shootout to help India pip Pakistan 4-2 in the final.

Sreejesh Ravindran was born on 8th May 1988 in Erumely village in close proximity to Kizhakkambalam in the vicinity of Kochi in Kerala. His is also known as Sreejesh Parattu Ravindran.

His father was called as P.V.Ravindran. He was involved in shot put at some stage in his school days. In a while he connected G.V.Raja sports school at what time he was studying in standard 8 where he switched to hockey.

His father is a planter and could not have enough money for the sporting expenditure of his son. He struggled even to purchase the equipments for sports. Then he got a supporter and got an occupation as an assistant manager at the Indian Overseas Bank in Chennai.

He has achieved his graduation in History. His brilliant performance was noticed and he was pulled out up from the sports school by the coaches Jayakumar and Ramesh Kolappa.

In fact, Sreejesh continued his global career in 2004 with the junior group of India in the Test sequence in opposition to Australia in Perth.

India lost the series 2-3, but Sreejesh its audience was in a small number of games he played all the way through visits to Pakistan and Malaysia.

He won the self-confidence of instructor Jose Brassa Indian who was sent to Australia as part of Lanco Series Hockey 9s to be acquainted with.

He successfully won the silver medal at the 2008 golden Azlan Shah Cup. He played enormously well at the Junior Asia Cup that he was named as the most excellent goalkeeper in Asia.
