INTRODUCTION
Kausani was originally referred by the name Valna and is situated at a distance of about 53 km to the north of Almora flanked by the rivers Kosi and Gomti.Though Kausani is not very popular among tourists it is a very beautiful hill station, sited amidst dense forest of pine trees and tea gardens. One can get a spectacular view of the Himalayas like the peaks of Trishul, Panchchuli and Nanda Devi.Kausani is situated atop the Pingnath Peak. LAKSHMI ASHRAM
Lakshmi Ashram is situated amidst dense pine forest which has a small organization formed and working for the betterment and upliftment of women.

PANT MUSEUM
Pant museum is a very old museum which is still maintained with the same beauty and charm. It is the birth place of the renouned and famous Hindi poet Pant who also wrote a lot on Hindi literature. This is a bird sanctuary situated in Binsar and gets to see different varities of birds here.It is an ideal picnic spot for bird watchers and wildlife enthusiasts.

BAGESHWAR
Bageshwar is a famous pilgrimage place in Kausani for it is here where the Bagnath temple is situated.The presiding deity of this temple is Lord Shiva and is visited by thousands of devotees for the festival of Mahashivratri is celebrated with great pomp.
The temple was constructed by Laxmi Chand around 1450 AD.
BAIJNATH
Baijnath is a temple town in the Garuda valley situated at a distance of about 16 Kms away from Kausani.Baijnath is on the banks of the Gomati river and fisihing is strictly prohibited here.The main feature of this temple complex is the black stone idol of Parvati at the main entrance.Kot-ki-mai is a Kali temple at a distance of about 8km from Baijnath.THINGS TO DO
