The Indian printing industry will reach nearly $20.9 billion by 2015, according to industry estimates. India is poised to be the number one in the world for printing by 2015. Rs. 280/- million US $ share in the Indian Print industry is the Printing Ink segment. The important observation in the printing ink industry is that though the volume and value are increasing by 10-15 %, the average price over the years does not seem to be increasing. India, in the next 5 years is on the path of upgrading its benchmark of quality because of the digital technology revolution in pre-press, press and post-press.
Out of world's 100 largest newspapers, India holds 17 newspapers. Rise in population and improved literacy would ensure the continued growth of the Indian Print industry.
