One of the main global concern today is the issues related to environment and it mainly refers to the natural elements that make up the Earth and surround living organisms, enabling life. The environment is not a single factor but lot of things which interact and interfere with human activities, most of the times, are not eco-friendly. It is very essential to have proper hygienic conditions in and around our environment for unhygienic environment leads to pollution and ultimately affect human health.
Importance of clean and healthy environment should be emphasized to each and every individual. When it comes to maintaining a clean and healthy environment, it's everybody's responsibility. There should be no compromise when it comes to the cleanliness of the environment and to achieve a healthy life. But however it is very happy to note that at least in the past few decades the study of environment has gained enormous importance.
The World Environment Day is celebrated on the 5th of June month every year. The credit of the finding of the World Environment day goes to the United Nations for it was designated by them to increase worldwide awareness of environmental issues and thereby motivate the people to work towards the progression of it. The agenda for the day is to sort out a list or program of things to be done towards environmental issues and to delegate power to people for equitable development.
Having such day dedicated will help people know the vital importance towards environmental issues and make sure that throughout the world people enjoy healthy surroundings and protect the earth's natural resources. The World Environment Day was established in 1972 by the United Nations General Assembly to honour the memory of the opening of the ceremony of the Stockholm Conference on the Human Environment. The United Nation which is foremost in importance for environmental action also created the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) to solemnly make all nations participate in it, where a different host city is nominated each year from around the world for a rhetorical discourse intended to give information internationally.

The World Environment Day is more of people's event where they themselves take an active participation for a wide range of environmental issues and to an extent it enhances political attention and action. The most common events includes street rallies, bicycles parades, green concerts, essay and poster competitions in schools, tree planting, recycling efforts, clean-up campaigns and much more.
There are many non-governmental organizations, community and youth groups, industry and the media participate in organizing these activities, only follow the features of the World Environment Day. Apart from this there are also so many other abstract things which take part in the promotions for this event. There are posters of natural and mild colours like green, brown and blue. Campaigns are mainly emphasized with hoardings and images of the earth's features, such as snowy mountains, clean beaches, unpolluted rivers, and photos of natural flora and fauna, including fern leaves, are used to promote campaigns supporting the day.
