International Nurse Day

Nurse Day is celebrated on the 12th of May in recognition of nurses throughout the world. May 12th is the birthday of florence Nightingale, who was a dedicated nurse and had a passion for ailing and moaning persons. She visited the ailing patients not only during day time but also during night time and she called, "The Lady with the Lamp".

Celebration of Nurse's Day is a salute and recognition of nursing play a vitsl role, day and night. Although nurses have very less recognition in the medical field, yet their role is not less important than a doctor. They should be honoured and rewarded for their dedicated and excellent service. Doctors diagnose patients but nurss implement and execute their diagnosis from time to time. Hence nurses are great executives and thier dedication ought to be highlighted by observing Nurse Day.

Observance of 'Nurse Day' will enhance planning and position of nurses as an established recognition event. The celebration of this day recognise the contribution that nurses and nursing make to the community. The Day supports and encourages the nurse's recognition programs organisations, educational facilities and independent health care companies and institutions.
