   T20 WORLD CUP 2012 View Schedule

Twenty20 cricket tournament that was held in Sri Lanka from September 18 to October 7, 2012 and was won by the West Indies.

• The 2012 ICC World Twenty20 was the fourth ICC World Twenty20 competition, an international Twenty20 cricket tournament that was held in Sri Lanka between September 18 and October 7, 2012.



• The schedule was posted by ICC. This was the first World Twenty20 tournament held in an Asian country, the last three being held in South Africa, England and the West Indies respectively. Sri Lankan pacer Lasith Malinga has been chosen as the event ambassador of the tournament by ICC.



• The format sea four groups of three in a preliminary round. India and England were in the same group and was joined by the runner up of the ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier; Afghanistan.



• The Champions of the ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier Ireland was in a group with West Indies and Australia. Sri Lanka, South Africa and Zimbabwe, and Pakistan, New Zealand and Bangladesh were the other two groups.
