LightFury Games Unveils ‘E-Cricket’ At GDC 2025 With AWS Collaboration

LightFury Games, an India-based game-tech studio, has announced its upcoming title ‘E-Cricket’ during the Game Developers Conference (GDC) 2025 in San Francisco. The studio revealed a teaser and demo of the game, developed in partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS).

E-Cricket’ is powered by Amazon GameLift Streams, a newly introduced managed AWS capability that allows developers to deliver high-fidelity, low-latency gaming experiences through browsers, eliminating the need for dedicated gaming hardware.

This feature is designed to enhance accessibility for players who may not have access to advanced gaming systems.

The game is built using Unreal Engine 5 and integrates AI-driven enhancements along with next-generation visuals to deliver a realistic and immersive cricket gaming experience.

The title targets both Esports players and cricket enthusiasts, combining competitive gameplay elements with advanced mechanics.

‘E-Cricket’ will feature multiplayer modes, live tournaments and interactive gameplay designed to foster a strong player community. LightFury Games plans to launch the title globally in early 2026.

AWS representatives expressed their support for LightFury Games' efforts, highlighting Amazon GameLift Streams’ ability to enable studios to deliver improved gaming experiences without hardware restrictions.

Chris Lee, Head of Immersive Technologies at AWS, stated that the technology opens new opportunities for game developers worldwide.

LightFury Games' Chief Product and Technology Officer (CPTO) and co-founder, Anurag Banerjee, noted that this approach aims to make high-fidelity gaming more accessible, particularly in India’s growing mobile gaming market.

He emphasised that Amazon GameLift Streams allows players to access premium gaming experiences via web browsers without requiring app installations.

Karan Shroff, CEO and co-founder of LightFury Games, confirmed the studio’s commitment to launching ‘E-Cricket’ in early 2026.

He added that the project is part of LightFury’s broader effort to develop India’s AAA gaming ecosystem and expand the country's presence in the global Esports industry. 

GDC, a platform for industry innovations, attracts over 28,000 professionals annually.
